While sensors offer obvious advantages, they come with disadvantages as well. Some sensors have low tolerance to dust, and require regular maintenance. Others operate properly over only a limited range of temperatures. The use of sensors, and the implementation of all the attendant circuitry, increases manufacturing costs; and highly precise sensors are of course the most expensive.

We’ll have to do this step just to have the TIM_HAL files added to our project by CubeMX. And also it gives us a startup configuration for the PWM channel of that specific timer module as we’ll see hereafter. This is the best way to keep the code generic and portable to any STM32 microcontroller.

If we start to reduce the maximum voltage at which the motor rotates at maximum speed, the speed of the motor also starts to reduce. In this way these enable pins are helpful to control the speed of the DC motor.

Using any method of connecting the wires, securely attach the potentiometer to the power supply using one wire, attached on both ends, or by connecting the components directly together.

We can use the Silk layer to add text to the board. Also we are able to insert an image file, so I add an image on of my website logo to be printed on the board. At the end using the copper area tool we need create the ground area of the PCB.

The circuit is connected in breadboard as per the DC motor speed control circuit diagram shown above. The pot here is used to adjust the speed of motor.
